Happy Valentines Day Y'all! :)

Hey friends!

IT'S ALMOST VALENTINES DAY! Yay love day! :) Too bad it's on a stinking Monday. Oh well! When Cade and I were in college we would go every year to this place called 'Mr.G's'. It was our tradition and we miss it. :( So every year Cade and I eat pizza from somewhere but it absolutely hasssss to be pizza. :)

SO I decided to be a tech pro tonight and got a little creative. :) Cade and I recorded a video about how we met. Sorry for two things: My face looks HUGE because of how I was holding the computer and sorry we were laughing when its started... there was a pause... it was awkward... so we laughed. Anyway... enjoy! :)

(Alright the video didn't work, but I'll figure it out!!!)

While we're speaking of past Valentine's Days, two years ago on Valentine's Day, Cade and I got in a car accident that completely changed the rest of our college experiences. Let me preface this story- I am not telling you this because I want you to feel bad for us- don't. We were fine eventually. I am telling you this story because I am trying to express how blessed I feel everyday just to be here and especially to still have my husband. Now, as I was saying. Two years ago on Valentine's Day, Cade and I were in a bad accident. It was raining very hard outside and we over-corrected and lost control of the car. We went down an embankment and the car rolled over. The car stopped rolling when it hit a tree. We ended up upside down. The car stopped on its roof. Cade wasn't awake when the paramedics got to us and I was awake but had a concussion so I didn't know what was happening. They care-flighted us to Austin because it was closest to where the accident was. Cade ended up with a dislocated shoulder (right arm) and a broken collarbone (left arm). I ended up with some bad brusing, a black eye, and a concussion. Get ready, I'm climbing onto my soap box right now... everyday is a blessing. EVERYDAY. Even the ones you think could NOT get any worse. They are a gift from God and should be cherished. I forget that SO often. Okay... I'm climbing down from my soap box now. :) Something that Cade and I have tried to do every Valentine's Day since the wreck has been to show how much we love (not only each other but) everyone that is in our lives. I love every one of you. Even those of you who I have never met. I love you. Have a wonderful Valentine's Day. You don't need a boyfriend/fiancee/husband to hear those words. Happy Valentine's Day. I'm putting a few pictures from the wreck below. If you would rather not look, that is perfectly fine. :) BYE!

The blue truck behind our car were people who stopped to help us.

A few days later. I messed up my neck because of the airbag (thats what that black thing is)... small price to pay. :) Cade is on SOOOOO much medication.

This is the beauty that came from all this junk... 4 weeks later we were married. Happy Valentine's Cade.

Last thing... a special thank you to all of those who helped make that time in our lives so less painful than it could have been- both our families, especially our sisters: Megan Dobbs and Rosanna Pilcher. Amanda Bruns - for helping me get through school and Danny Cepeda - for you, Danny the list goes on forever. Kirstin Pullen - for helping Cade get through his school and play stuff. Thank you guys! MUCH LOVE!

Feeling a Little Crafty

Good afternoon! We are going on day two on being trapped inside the house because an ice storm came through the metroplex.

.... and maybe day 3... I'm going stir crazy a little... :)

So- last year in the fall I made a wreath for my Momma and I really liked it! I decided to make myself one too. Oh and before I forget I got the idea from: jonesdesigncompany.com

You will need:
styrofoam wreath
burlap
scissors
needle & thread
straight pins
hot glue gun
a patterned fabric

First cut your burlap into three long strips- 4" x 70"

Wrap the wreath with one of the strips of burlap... I used hot glue and straight pins to hold the burlap till it dried.

Stitch the thread through the burlap to create a ripple in the fabric.

Glue the rippled burlap onto the back of the wreath
.

Repeat the threading of the burlap to create a rippled strip again. This time glue it to the front of the wreath.

You can decorate the wreath with a pretty flower! :)
